Floating the Illinois River is a fun and relaxing way to spend the day on the water. If the water level is right you might get away with never lifting a paddle and just letting the river current push you down stream. The rafts you are floating in a very stable and difficult to overturn. They are slow moving and usually just bump off of any obstacles in the water. When the bus drops you off at the river to board your raft please remember that each person must have a life vest and typically you should have 3-4 oars in the boat with you. All rafts on Frosty Keg Float must have at least 6 people in them unless you are in a designated 9 person raft. This is very important so that everybody will be able to float the river, if you leave with a half loaded raft (less than 6) people will be left behind and you will be in trouble. |
